Hays are currently working with a well-respected organisation based in the Leeds area to recruit for an estates category buyer for a 6/12 month period.
Your new role
The category buyer will create, lead and deliver a Procurement Category Strategy for a category/sub-category of responsibility, identifying solutions that manage/mitigate supply chain and contractual risk on behalf the business. Support and challenge stakeholders to define procurement needs that align with current and future business demand, whilst ensuring the solution provided addresses wider business needs. Prepare, present and seek approval of contract and commercial recommendations for board level approval. Manage and maintain all key tender and business unit reporting obligations as required. Provide advice, guidance and support to the business to drive compliance and enhance commercial awareness across the company.
What you'll need to succeed
Comprehensive understanding of the implications of relevant legislation in the procurement process, coupled with and in-depth understanding and experience of delivering compliant OJEU and non OJEU tender processes. Commercially focussed with a proven track record of delivering value and process efficiency. Ability to analyse complex data sets and develop Procurement Strategies that mitigate risk and deliver value. Advanced understanding and application of the use of the Microsoft Office, SAP Full UK driving licence
