CAD Technician

Our client, a multi-disciplinary property and construction company, is currently seeking a CAD Technician to join their office in Witney, Oxfordshire

The role will involve providing CAD Technician support to the M&E team and wider practice.

Job duties:

• Develop M&E scheme designs to detail design stage using Auto Cad under direction of M&E Engineers.
• Produce working drawing packages for tender and construction purposes to the required standard.
• To work within Practice policies and in particular in accordance with the Practice QA standards, standard documents, and Practice guidelines.
• Liaise with other consultants and contractors as appropriate.
• Carry out measured surveys of buildings when directed.
• Attend site meetings as appropriate.
• To assist with projects being undertaken by other offices as requested.
• To be part of the M&E team to assist in overflow CAD work when required by the Design Team.
• To ensure that time spent on projects is recorded on the Manager database.
• To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably expected of an M&E CAD Technician.

Essential skills, experience, and attributes…

• 2 years’ experience of using AutoCAD and working in a Building Services Consultancy.
• Understanding of the built environment and how buildings are constructed.
• Knowledge of M&E engineering services.
• Relevant qualification (HNC or above), or proven experience.
• Revit and BIM knowledge - desirable.
• Ability to work with attention to detail and accuracy.
• GSCE’s in Math and English (or equivalent).
