Business Development Manager

• Annual Salary: £60k plus Commission & Bonus

We are seeking a Sales Manager with strong management skills, excellent organisational abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure. This role is ideal for someone with a background in a CNC machining production environment and an engineering qualification to read and prepare engineering drawings for quotations.

• Create and maintain an effective system for all customer quotations.
• Assist in the preparation of customer quotations and sales proposals, ensuring they meet both customer and company needs.
• Understand customer requirements and specifications as part of the quotation process.
• Keep the Business Operations Manager and Directors informed of all customer quotations and requirements.
• Work closely with the Business Operations Manager, Directors, and Production Team to ensure customer requirements are understood and met.
• Lead in specific products from enquiry through to Customer Purchase Order, delivery, and after-sales support.
• Provide a key point of contact for customers for pre and after-sales requirements, including technical support/advice.
• Pursue submitted quotations and secure Purchase Orders when applicable.
• Coordinate and expedite all customer Purchase Orders to ensure agreed dates are met.
• Update the NUME computer system accurately to maintain customer delivery requirements.
• Monitor and maintain Sales KPIs, including reports, cost and sales analysis, and provide regular data to the Directors.
• Work with external authorities for customs/exporting requirements and government departments when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues in all departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Provide administrative support for customer order procedures using NUME.
• Support the functions and services of the Purchasing/General Manager and Quality Manager, providing cover as needed.

• Strong management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain organisation.
• Background in a CNC machining production environment is advantageous.
• Engineering qualification required to read and prepare engineering drawings for quotations.
• Proficient in the use of NUME or similar computerised systems.
• Excellent customer liaison skills and the ability to provide technical support.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and ensure timely delivery of products and services.
• Knowledge of customs/exporting requirements and government department liaisons is beneficial.
