Job Title: Business Development Manager
Salary: £40,000 plus bonus, plus company car
Location: Home based with national travel

Purpose of the Role:
To generate and deliver agreed individual sales targets of contactless and telemetry units for both existing and new clients in the Smart Machines sectors.

Who does the role suit:

A candidate who has previous experience winning business in a solution sale type environment. Someone that is self-sufficient and can create and maintain a regular sales pipeline.


Create and maintain a regular sales pipeline

Support in client and end-user sales presentations

Provide insight and knowledge for best practice for the customer

Network through a very diverse and complicated company structure

Pro-active generation of new business within a solution type sales environment to be primarily through a pre-agreed number of face-to-face meetings

Convert calls from cold call to warm status

Generate leads from existing and new customer database

Execution of assigned lead generation (marketing campaign feeds) - assigned new contacts to be contacted within 5 working days post event

Pro-active execution of activity to turn lapsed/lost clients into opportunities

Revisit existing customer base with a view on selling value add products


Minimum of 2 years’ experience in solution sales

Knowledge and experience of dealing with procurement

Commercial acumen

Maintains a high degree of industry and product knowledge, with the ability to translate to Vianet’s customers’ needs

Full and effective use of 'Momentum’ pipeline to manage sales and marketing activities

Proven ability in solution selling. ERP and data insight experience would be desirable

A recognised qualification in either marketing or selling would be desirable

Exceptional customer service skills and demonstrable experience

High level of computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A proven natural networker, able to build authentic relationships quickly

Ability to present under pressure to senior internal & external stakeholders

Highly organised approach

Ability to multi-task and work under pressure

Empathic listener to really understand the needs of the customer

Self-motivated and driven

A Full UK driving license

Commercially astute
