Business Analyst - Business Intelligence

Business Intelligence Analyst required for a busy tech company, situated from Glasgow.

The company

Headquartered in Glasgow, they have been around for over 30 years now and have grown to a workforce of over 500 individuals. Technology is at the heart of what they do - they operate within the automotive industry and the technology they utilize on top of this ensures that they are the leader in their specialised field.

This is a role to work alongside an established software and technical team, being one of three Business Analyst's. Reporting into the Software Manager, you will work across a full, cross-functional IT team including Developers, Testers, Support Analysts and Business Intelligence specialists.

The company are based just outside of the city centre in Glasgow, and operate a standard hybrid model. They would be looking for 3 days a week in the office and 2 from home, with flexibility on those days.

The role

This is a position for a Business Analyst who has done a lot of data work, and is interested to work in the Business Intelligence space. Business Intelligence is a fairly new discipline to the business, however all of the infrastructure is now in place and there is a huge push from the business to implement it further and make use of it. In this role, you will be expected to create and drive the governance from a data perspective as well as cover what the business (data) requirements are.

In this role, you will likely be either a Business Analyst with a strong Business Intelligence background, or a BI Analyst who is happy doing Business Analysis. The role has elements of both. On top of this, you will additionally be involved in smaller software development projects and work across the full remit of the IT team.

Currently, the technology is a combination of Power BI and SQL Server, with the infrastructure and Data Warehouse already in place. Although it is Power BI, if you have knowledge in Tableau or Qlikview or something similar, that would work great. What is important in the role, is helping to embed Business Intelligence across the business and make greater use of the company insights.

Key Skills and Experience

** A few years working in a Business Analyst or Business Intelligence Analyst role

** Strong Business Intelligence and Data skills (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)

** Strong SQL knowledge

** Experience of providing a business analysis service across the full lifecycle of projects - including pre and post project activity

** Strong Gap Analysis and requirements gathering background

** Capturing of As-Is processes along with all interfaces, controls, inputs, outputs and costs

** Capture and documentation of requirements (business, functional and non-functional, data, etc.)

You do not need to have all of the above, but the majority would be useful.
