Bid Writer / Bid Manager

Your new company
A leading Liverpool based contractor with over 100 years in the industry are looking for an experienced Bid Writer to head up this function of the business. Originally established as a painting and decorating contractor this business has grown dramatically and now has a national presence, working with housing associations and local authorities on a variety of frameworks and domestic maintenance contracts.

Your new role
Working closely with the Commercial Team and Directors you will prepare all PQQ and ITT submissions, providing full coordination for strategic and framework bids. You will manage the development of the bid submissions function ensuring they are consistently of the highest quality and continuously improved. You will ensure commonality across all bid submissions and take a lead on the identification of winning bid strategies / themes / differentiation. You will ensure bid strategies / themes / differentiation are incorporated into the final bid submissions and will track the progress of all bid activities. You will record and manage bid issues or clarifications and escalate where appropriate, leading bid meetings with the rest of the team. You will delivery all bid answer responses e.g. written answers, methodologies, process etc, and you will also prepare bid submission documents/marketing collateral/presentations. You will actively track leads for new tenders, frameworks and commercial opportunities and will also act as the company representative in any client meetings. You will develop and manage best practice / share proposal data, building and maintaining long term business relationships with supply chain and clients; as well as internally within the Business Unit.

What you'll need to succeed
You are an experienced Bid Writer and have a proven ability writing winning bid submissions. You have an excellent understanding of the importance of work winning strategies/themes/differentiators and their application in to submissions. You have worked in the construction industry previously and have a sound knowledge of construction related PQQs/Tenders. You are computer literate and able to use excel, word, and powerpoint to a high standard. You work well as part of a team and you naturally take an organised and methodical approach, with good attention to detail. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and build solid working relationships.
