Our Client, a leading Charity are currently recruiting for Bid Manager/Business Development Manager to join their team.

This role will be to manage and co-ordinate key business development functions across the organisation; specifically tender writing and production.

Home based with very occasional travel for onsite team meetings.

Salary – £43,258-52,903 depending on experience.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage the pipeline for tender opportunities and management of the tender portals.
  • Manage the development of a central tender response repository and evidence base.
  • Draft, review and edit tender responses working to tight timelines.
  • Oversee the role of the ‘tender champion’ in all bids to ensure the tender process is effective and well managed.
  • Manage the preparation and production of bids (including PQQs) from conducting research through to final submission working with experts by subject across operations, quality assurance, finance, and people leads within the business.
  • Support senior operations in the development of proposed delivery models, engaging with potential delivery partners.
  • Support SLT to conduct an annual analysis of tender submissions and feedback to determine lessons learnt, identifying areas of repeated challenge and areas for improvement.
  • Support operations to complete annual impact reports to be used for marketing purposes with external stakeholders.
  • Support operations to respond to local and national emerging health and wellbeing needs and creating business development opportunities from intelligence gathered in services.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the work of the Positive Effect team overseeing their workstreams, outputs and outcomes in line with its annual objectives.
  • Enable Positive Effect team to work effectively with operations to ensure the team adds value and works on behalf of service managers to deliver local social value projects.
  • Create and sustain effective working relationships with key partners and commissioners promoting the business as a leading provider of services and developing new business opportunities and partnerships.

Experience Required:

  • Experienced bid/tender writer with a proven track record of managing and writing successful bids for new contracts including retention of existing contracts.
  • Experienced in the evaluation of service impact and/or production of impact reports.
  • Excellent Project Management skills and the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Highly proficient and accurate working at pace, and effectively managing multiple workstreams to deadline.
  • Proven experience of networking, influencing and forming effective relationships with future customers, stakeholders and internal staff.
  • Able to review large amounts of information and research material to inform model development and shape tender responses.
  • Knowledge of the end to end competitive tendering process from contract notification to submission.
  • Knowledge of Legislation, quality standards and practice relating to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, equality and diversity, service user participation and engagement.
  • Experience of working within a third sector organisation is desirable but not essential.
