Hours: Full-Time - 09:00-17:00, Mon-Fri

Pay rate: Day £21.80

Are you a qualified and experienced Pharmacy Technician who has worked within Hospital Settings? Do you have an all-round knowledge of hospital pharmaceutical procedures?

NHS Professionals have exciting opportunities for a Pharmacy Technician with experience to support our client trusts. You will maintain key relationships with co-workers and other health care professionals across the Trust to ensure an effective service.

The Horton General Hospital in Banbury serves the growing population in the north of Oxfordshire and surrounding areas It is an acute general hospital providing a wide range of services including: emergency department (with an emergency admission unit), acute general medicine and elective day case surgery, trauma, maternity (midwifery-led unit) and gynaecology, paediatrics, critical care, Brodey Centre (treatment for cancer).

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Counselling patients that attend Pharmacy on how to take their medicines in a safe and effective manner and warning them of possible side effects that they may experience during treatment.

To use the Pharmacy stock control computer system and other information technology in all areas of Pharmacy. To be fully competent in the use of the Robotic Dispensing system, where applicable to site, with the ability to diagnose and resolve robot operating issues and escalate as required.

To provide practical support and advice to the allocated team members in relation to managing monthly Dispensary Controlled Drug stock checks, auditing and correction of levels, ensuring the correct process is followed, and a clear audit trail is maintained.

To support Quality Improvement projects, dispensary audits including planning, communication inputting and analysing data and producing reports.

Receive prescriptions from patients/ staff and receive payment for prescription charges.

Work within identified processes to ensure that medicine stock levels are monitored and accurately maintained.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

To be GPhC Registered and ACT Checking skills/experience are Highly Desirable.

Experience in using Cerner Millenium Electronic Prescribing System; hospital experience is Desirable

Candidates with Community Pharmacy experience only may also be considered.

Qualified Pharmacy Technician holding an NVQ Level 3 or other relevant qualification.
