It's that time of year again!
The local elections will be held on Friday 27th April, Monday 30th April, Tuesday 1st May, Wednesday 2nd May and Thursday 3rd May 2018 to open and collate postal ballot papers.
Hours of work are 9am-5pm, however if there are not enough ballot papers you may be sent home early. If you are sent home early due to lack of work, you will still be paid for a 4 hour day regardless. This has been agreed with the Council.
On the election day (Thursday 3rd May) selected people will be asked to work additional hours until all the ballots have been collected from Sheffield post boxes. This is not a requirement for the position but candidates that are flexible would be really helpful.
This will be repetitive work where you will need to work at a fast pace. Duties include working in an open hall that is monitored by officials, opening postal ballot papers, counting, collating, checking they are completed correctly including the signature and potentially scanning them onto the system.
Candidates are required to sign a secrecy document before confirmation of placement and all candidates must not be actively working for or promoting a specific political party.
Please note there are 35 positions available - however these will go fast! We will be contacting people over the next week to formally register with Travail Employment Group, so all candidates must have either a valid passport, full birth certificate or an identity card, along with proof of address and proof of national insurance number. If you do not have this ID we will not be able to register you.
£8.45 p/h, weekly pay, easy transport links for Sheffield City Centre. Any overtime done on Thursday 3rd May will be paid at £14 p/h.
