The position is based in a lovely Primary setting in Southwark, it's a full-time role and to start in April 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting autistic pupils with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour in a secondary school setting.
  • Developing and implementing individualised support plans for pupils with autism.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure pupil's needs are met.
  • Providing training and guidance to staff on best practices for supporting pupils with autism.
  • Liaising with external agencies and professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with autistic pupils with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge of autism and related conditions.
  • Understanding of strategies for managing challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
