This opportunity will suit someone who is able to contribute to the preparation of audit and accounts for a large portfolio of clients in varying sectors so attention to detail and the ability to manage workflow and meet deadlines will be critical. You will be able to build trusted and long-lasting relationships with clients, whilst always striving to deliver excellence.

You will also be looking to really make a difference to the firm, supporting the Managers and Partners in identifying and pursuing commercial opportunities and you’ll be a great mentor for junior staff, helping to nurture a workforce that this firm can really be proud of.

Job Purpose

  • Leading audits from planning through to completion
  • Supervising and providing feedback to audit assistants
  • Accounts preparation for non-audit limited companies
  • Reviewing accounts preparation
  • Client contact
  • 50% Audit, 50% Accounts Preparation
  • Responsible for around 20 audits with turnovers up to c. £30 million in the North West
  • Involvement in the management of a portfolio of clients, from resource planning to WIP and budget management.
  • Work closely with clients to build trusted relationships, being the go-to for support.
  • Confidently present work to Managers, completing files to a high standard.
  • Underpin audit and accounts matters with current legislation and compliance.
  • Handle compliance queries from clients.
  • Assist with pitching to new clients and attending networking opportunities, championing new business for the firm.
  • Mentor and support new trainees, supporting with their learning and development.
  • Set an example for the team.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACCA, ACA or CA qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience with demonstrable accountancy practice experience.
  • Experience being involved in the provision of audits.
  • Self-motivated and reliable who is eager to progress.
  • Technically efficient in both audit and accounting.
  • A drive to deliver an excellent level of service.
  • Effective communication skills are essential, both verbal and written.
  • An appetite to progress and take on a supervisory role within the firm.
