ATT Tax Trainee
We are looking for ATT Trainees to join us in our Weymouth office from July 2019 onwards. You will be working in an established Tax Department in a trainee role, gaining experience to become a key player in processing tax returns and providing the whole range of tax compliance support to our personal tax clients. This position involves a number of different aspects including preparing tax computations, processing tax returns, and H M Revenue & Customs documents on behalf of clients. Assignments will be undertaken both in the office and at client’s premises. Trainees will have support and on the job training from managers and other senior staff. During your training you will be expected to develop an understanding of the practical issues involved in delivering a high quality service to clients.
Both practical and theoretical training will be supported, with the aim to becoming a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians. A very wide range of Taxation work experience and on-the-job training will be provided within a busy accountancy practice. Training will include core papers of personal tax, business tax, accounting, practice administration and ethics as well a choice from 4 non-core papers. We provide and fund technical training with recognised training providers, provision of books and materials, student registration fees, annual student subscription and exemption/examination entry fees.
To achieve your chosen training qualification with us and then to consistently give the highest quality and latest advice to clients you must be competent at studying and passing exams. An indicator of this can be your past studies and exams which is why we use these results as part of an ideal entry criteria. It is not absolute as we will also consider other factors such as experience and other qualifications however as an indicator for the following qualifications we look for the following grades:-
ATT. - Ideally a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) mostly at Grade A*-B / 9 - 5, including Maths and English and a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent) grade A*- B. If you possess a degree, ideally you will have achieved a 2:1 or above.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook
- Must be able to work well as part of a team with good interpersonal skills
- Accurate typing and/or data entry skills
- Professional & hard working
- Driven and enthusiastic
- Excellent attention to Detail
- Ideally prior knowledge of tax, but general interest in business, accountancy and tax will be expected
