They have an opportunity for a Lab Technician for Biology and Analytical Laboratory within the Quality Control department to join their team, based at the Milton Keynes site. This role is a temporary contract role initially signed off for 6 months with a possible extension offering an hourly rate of up to £14 per hour, plus 25 days holiday pro rata and other benefits.

Purpose of the Role:

To perform Administrative and maintenance functions within the laboratories as well as inputting data onto spreadsheets and filing away.

Key Accountabilities and Duties:

  • To ensure technicians have the required reagents and materials for testing, maintaining inventory on the laboratory.
  • Restock of material for the laboratory and they correct storage.
  • Prepare reagents in accordance with SOP’s.
  • Receive samples in the laboratory and maintain sample management on the laboratory.
  • Ensure freezers and fridges are organized and follow the cleaning schedules
  • Maintenance of logbook reviews
  • Insert of data on trend system
  • Keep usage record for authorities.
  • Update of SOP's ensuring they are current and relevant.
  • Completion and review of COSHH assessments.
  • Ensure waste disposal and cleaning of equipment is carried out.
  • File of documentation on the correct batch files
  • Support documentation completion for files
  • Update SOP's.
  • Organise laboratory equipment when required.

Other responsibility

  • To upload company procedures regarding GMP and always comply with UK pharmaceutical regulations.
  • To comply with company’s health and safety practices and procedures

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Knowledge of GMP Compliance.
  • Good organisation skills
  • Experience of Inventory practices
  • Sample handling experience
  • Experience of working on a high fast environment desirable
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Able to communicate at all levels and across all functions
  • Ability to communicate concise technical information with clarity
  • Good Time Management in a high flow through laboratory
  • Flexible approach to changing priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Educated to A Levels or equivalent
  • Science related Degree beneficial, but not essential
