We’re hiring!

Aon are currently recruiting Trustee Actuarial Associate Partners across the country (work location is flexible).

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

As a Trustee Actuarial Associate Partner at Aon, you will be a lead consultant in our Trustee Retirement Consulting group advising Defined Benefit pension schemes. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising pension scheme trustees and working with their sponsors on all aspects of their pensions issues, thereby enabling them to meet their pensions obligations and achieve their wider objectives. This is likely to include valuations and funding negotiations, longer term and end game planning, risk settlement projects, member options projects, benefit changes and responses to corporate activity.
  • Leading relationships with clients, with accountability for developing those relationships.
  • Working with Senior Partners and Partners on our very largest client relationships and helping them to develop those relationships.
  • Coaching, mentoring and supporting our developing colleagues to create future leaders and being a visible and inspiring leader to them.
  • Having responsibility for successfully winning and delivering large projects and presenting the resulting advice to clients. For each client, this will include managing the regular client team and working, where appropriate, with subject experts.
  • Understanding the full range of wider services that Aon offers, both within the UK pensions arena and beyond, and introducing our experts from these different areas to our clients.
  • Continuing the development of Aon’s relationships with Professional Trustees and prospective clients and Aon’s presence in local markets.
  • Having the potential to play a major role in national thought leadership, in local office or national leadership or in one of our market-leading specialist teams.

Above all, we recognise the diverse range of skill sets and experiences of Associate Partners within the pensions industry and so we want to hear how you can contribute to Aon’s future growth.

How this opportunity is different

Every day, our colleagues make a difference, work with the best, own their potential and value one another. As one of the leading firms advising the trustees of UK pension schemes, we are seeking an ambitious individual to help our business to continue to grow strongly.

You will work with clients and colleagues across the UK which will result in you having a uniquely wide range of experiences. You will be involved on some of the most interesting and challenging assignments in the pensions industry. You will help to shape the development of our offers to clients in our core areas of advice.

As an organisation, we are committed to the ongoing personal development of our colleagues, so you will continue to grow as an individual. The role offers the potential to progress towards being a Partner at Aon.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Qualified actuary, with extensive post-qualification experience. Holding a Scheme Actuary certificate is helpful but not essential.
  • Track record in leading client relationships and/or working with Senior Partners and Partners on larger clients.
  • Relevant industry experience (retirement/pensions) and consulting experience coupled with sound technical capability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and comfortable in leading discussions with trustees and pension scheme sponsors.
  • Self-motivating and ambitious.
  • Able to encourage and develop other colleagues, and work well within diverse teams.
  • Whilst having an eye for detail, also capable in advising at a strategic level.
