Associate Director of Estates Operations
c.£90,000 per annum plus excellent benefits

Deliver cutting-edge estates operations to ensure a world class student experience.

Our heritage as the UK’s original 'redbrick’ and civic university, is combined with one of the most compelling and ambitious agendas in higher education. Quite simply, at Birmingham we make things happen. Home to world-class researchers whose work on everything from new cancer treatments to harnessing the power of atoms for future energy sources, makes a real difference to people’s lives - we provide innovative solutions to big problems. We think, recruit and compete worldwide. Our stunning, 300-acre Edgbaston campus is iconic.

This is a crucial leadership role to consistently deliver world class estates operational services across our diverse campus. The Associate Director of Estates Operations will lead the delivery of a broad portfolio of estates services across the university’s diverse array of buildings and assets. Our impressive portfolio includes teaching and research space, a medical school, energy centre, workspace, enterprise space, social and hospitality space, residential accommodation, recreational and sports facilities in addition to the public realm.

This is a wide-ranging role that spans all aspects of building services and engineering including energy management and utilities. The Estates Directorate has a team of more than 200 staff with an active apprenticeship programme and provides key enabling services for the campus to support the delivery of the 2030 strategy.

We are seeking an exceptional candidate with a track record of managing large diverse estates operational teams and outsourced contracts. You will be adept at prioritising and providing an exceptional customer service all within budget. To be a success in the role, we are seeking an individual with outstanding stakeholder engagement and team leadership skills, and who is results focused and customer-centric in approach.
