Do you possess a good level of experience within transactional finance and are seeking to make a significant contribution to a company's success?

Rutherford Briant have recently partnered with a fast-growing, acquisitional business based in Southend who are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant for their dynamic finance team. Our client is ideally looking to bring on-board an AAT studying/qualified professional with month-end exposure to work alongside their Financial Controller.

They are offering a competitive salary of £40,000, study support, a clear route for progression, as well as a wide range of competitive benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily bookkeeping activities including accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations.
  • Involved in high-volume invoice processing and raising.
  • Quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assisting with management accounts & month-end preparation.
  • Overseeing the Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable departments.
  • Analysing financial statements.
  • Preparing the weekly payment runs & employee expenses.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified / actively studying.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Accounts Assistant (ideal).
  • Previous bookkeeping and month-end exposure.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong willingness to learn.
