Grafton Banks Finance are currently working with a well-respected and growing business with offices based in Central London to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Recording of purchase/sales invoices, receipts and payments.
  • Maintaining cashbooks in multiple currencies & bank reconciliations.
  • Inter-company reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange preferred.
  • Knowledge of VAT returns.
  • Accruals & prepayments.
  • Fixed assets register.
  • Management reports.
  • Assisting with analysis and schedules for forecasting Corporation Tax.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the company statutory accounts.
  • Strong Excel, double entry and reconciliation skills.
  • Ad hoc duties (as required).

Key Skills & Experience:

  • AAT part or fully qualified (or equivalent qualification) preferred but not essential.
  • Working knowledge of Sage 50 Professional is advantageous.
  • Well organised and methodical.
  • Willing to be part of a team and engage with others.
  • Confident self-starter, able to problem solve and use initiative.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Relevant experience preferred – expected to be > 2-3 years.
