This is a Learning Support Assistant role that will put you into challenging, sometimes Anti-Social contexts that will build your foundations of experience. With this LSA role starting after, de-escalation and the language around it is incredibly important! This is a specialist school where empathy and pragmatism are key.

If you have a degree in Youth Advocacy or Youth justice/Psychology, this role should be ideal for you.

If you are an aspiring Criminal Justice Officer or Probation Officer, this LSA role will give you pragmatic experience of working with vulnerable students who have been through severe traumas.

Restorative Practice, pragmatism and positive reinforcement will be key skills in this LSA role in Dorking. The role specialises in working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and Wellness concerns. The boys you are raising attainment with are between the ages of 9-16, all have EHCPs and will need to continue their education once they leave the school.

Behaviour is only one aspect of this role, it is imperative that you have the academic skill to be able to raise academic attainment across a number of areas. Computing, Hairdressing, PE and the Performative Arts are all incredibly important here, there is a real holistic approach and feeling within this brand new SEMH School in Berkshire.

The LSA role will give you experience in safeguarding and assessment of what rehabilitation students require to be empowered back into mainstream education. It is important to understand, where the boys come from, what the boys have been through and the importance of clear objectives being set for them, making them feel valued within education in the process.

This practical placement will enable you to qualify and disqualify areas of Psychology, Youth, Social and Criminal Justice that are right for you. This LSA role is not for everyone; you must be sincere about your objectives and know why you are Aspiring Criminal Justice Officer Guildford.
