Job Title: Behaviour Mentor

Location: Newham

Job Type: Full-Time | Temp to Perm

Salary: £100-115

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary School Behaviour Mentor to join one of our fantastic schools in Newham. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and supporting the emotional well-being of our primary school students.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Develop and implement behaviour intervention plans in collaboration with teachers and other school staff.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour changes.
  • Work closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to support students with additional needs.
  • Deliver workshops and training sessions on behaviour management strategies for staff and parents.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of behaviour incidents and interventions.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience working with primary school-aged children in a behavioural support role.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and positive behaviour support techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and the ability to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
