Salary: £70,000 - £200,000 - salaries negotiable depending on experience + Profit share on book

The Role:

We are working with a specialist Independent Lloyds Broker and Reinsurance Broker who have grown consistently and have ambitious plans in the UK and Globally.

They are seeking entrepreneurial proactive individuals who want to be part of something and to make their mark in their specialist area.

As an Agriculture Underwriter, you will specialize in Agriculture Reinsurance, working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and underwriting risks, as well as crafting policy wordings that offer appropriate terms to both new and existing customers.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse policies to assess risk factors.
• Determine appropriate reinsurance terms, pricing, and coverage limits for policies, ensuring they align with the company's risk appetite and guidelines.
• Monitor and manage the performance of the agricultural reinsurance portfolio, including making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes that may impact the agriculture sector and reinsurance underwriting.
• Collaborate with brokers, insurance companies, and agricultural producers to provide exceptional service, answer inquiries, and negotiate reinsurance terms.
• Utilize data analytics and modelling tools to enhance the accuracy of risk assessments and pricing strategies.
• Maintain accurate and organized underwriting records, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in using industry-standard underwriting software and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of agricultural and agribusiness practices, including crop types, farming techniques, and risk factors.
• A deep understanding of reinsurance principles and practices.
• 10+ years of experience in Underwriting/Reinsurance.
• Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a problem-solving aptitude.
