Workington Health Limited, are a progressive organisation who work on behalf of the five GP Practices in Workington have adopted an innovative approach to the delivery of urgent care in Workington.
We are based in the Workington Primary Care Centre located in Workington Community Hospital. The centre is open 7 days a week, Monday – Friday from 8am – 8pm and Saturday & Sunday 10am – 4pm.
We provide urgent same day appointments on behalf of the five Workington GP Practices as well as a walk in minor injury service, home visiting service and currently a red zone COVID centre. This is a very busy, fast paced, changing environment so the successful candidate must be able to work in a demanding and challenging environment and be adaptable to change.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, hard-working and conscientious person to join our very busy but friendly department. The post holder will have significant post registration experience and a strong academic track record to support your application.
You will be required to function as an autonomous practitioner working independently and in conjunction with other health professionals by assessing, diagnosing and initiating treatment, investigations, advice and management of patients with a range of acute conditions using professional decision making processes ensuring safe, patient centred care.
The successful candidate will be an experienced clinician, confident in autonomous practice and educated to at least BSc Nurse Practitioner with evidence of post qualification. Non-Medical Prescribing is mandatory for the role. The ability to think quickly on your feet whilst remaining professional and calm at all times is essential.
You will be required to be part of a rota for our Home Visiting Nurse Practitioner scheme seeing patients (registered with a Workington GP Practice) with acute problems in their own homes or in a care environment following triage by GP and our red zone COVID centre
