A top100 law firm, based in the heart of Manchester are looking for an Administration Assistant to support their Benefits Expert in the Court of Protection team. You'll assist colleagues and clients with welfare benefits inquiries.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Benefits Expert.
- Inform the Department for Work and Pensions of any changes affecting welfare benefits.
- Aid in preparing and submitting appeals for tribunal hearings, representing clients lacking capacity.
- Assist in communication and preparation for welfare benefits training.
- Essential Skills:
- Dedication to excellent client service and enthusiasm for Court of Protection work.
- Proficiency in IT, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including client interaction.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
- Numeracy and effective teamwork.
- Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with Court of Protection and deputy responsibilities, including OPG guidelines and welfare benefits.
- Basic understanding of the Mental Health Act.
- Experience with vulnerable adults lacking capacity.
