Our Accountancy Practice client have an exciting new job opportunity for an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their Aylesbury team.

The Role

The purpose of the Accounts Assistant role is to support within a wide range of business services including year-end procedures, preparation of management accounts & taxation.

The Accounts Assistant will have strong interpersonal skills, a passion to learn and develop as well as being highly deadline-driven.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Point of contact for clients, handling basic accounting needs & assignments
  • Complete year-end accounts ready to be reviewed for sole traders, limited companies & partnerships
  • Business tax returns & HMRC reports
  • Prepare personal/partnership tax returns - including PAYE, unearned income, tax deductions, pensions, self-employed & partnership income
  • Actively develop skills & knowledge on an on-going basis
  • General, ad-hoc admin support tasks

Skills & Experience

  • A background from within Accounts (minimum 2 years)
  • Looking to begin or ideally, in the early stages of AAT studies - further support provided
  • Working knowledge of a recognised accountancy package - eg. Sage
  • Microsoft Office skills - Word & Excel
  • Problem solving
  • Attention to detail
  • High standard of communication skills - both written & verbal
