Our client is a leading financial services firm in Fleet Hampshire, specialising in audit, accountancy, outsourced accounting and taxation services. They are dedicated to delivering high-quality financial solutions to their diverse clientele. As an Accountant/Auditor, you will have the opportunity to work on moderately complex audit, accountancy, and taxation projects and contribute to the growth and success of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Firm's methods and technical knowledge:
• Expand your knowledge and understanding of professional practices, the firm's procedures, methods, and standards of work, including technical resources and the services offered by the firm.
Apply and understand the theory and principles of relevant legislation.
Performance of client work:
• Perform assigned work as instructed to the satisfaction of the manager, without direct supervision.
• Bring to the attention of managers matters that may require their consideration and suggest appropriate solutions.
• Tasks include but are not limited to:
• Record and process transactions and events.
• Prepare external financial or management reports.
• Analyse and interpret financial and management reports.
• Evaluate investment and financial decisions.
• Manage and control working capital.
• Identify and manage financial risk.
• Evaluate management accounting systems.
• Plan and control performance.
• Monitor performance.
• Perform tax computations and assessments.
• Ensure tax compliance and verification.
• Provide tax planning and advice.
• Prepare for and plan for the audit process.
• Collect and evaluate evidence for an audit.
• Review and report on the findings of an audit.
Control of client work:
• Prepare detailed work programs.
• Keep managers informed of progress on engagements.
• Review work of assigned junior staff and handle routine work queries.
• Review planners and IRIS PM for allocated work, deadlines, and priorities.
Client care:
• Be professional and polite in all dealings with clients.
• Respond to client requests in a timely manner.
• Respect the personnel and property of clients and the confidential nature of work undertaken.
• Recognise potential client care issues and bring them to the attention of the manager.
Commerciality:
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of time recording.
• Adhere to time budgets and report reasons for variations.
Professional development:
Undertake appropriate study and pass exams.
Prepare for and attend your own appraisal.
Identify and agree on the requirements of your own work role, including personal work objectives.
Hours are: Monday to Friday 9-5pm
Salary: £35-45k
