This broker’s specialist Independent & Private Schools Division very much has the feel of a boutique practice; it has a dedicated team of circa 40 highly-knowledgeable employees (across Sales, Account Management, Claims and Account Handling) that are regarded as some of the most gifted insurance professionals within this niche, and look after some of the most prestigious accounts in the sector. That said, as part of one of the largest global brokers, this division still benefits from the infrastructure, market presence and ability to call upon specialist colleagues, that comes with being part of a much larger concern.

As such, whether you are currently working in the Education insurance niche, or you are an SME, Middle-Market or Corporate Account Executive in 'general commercial’, who is seeking a new challenge, this is a superb opportunity to forge a career with a team that is perhaps the most respected in this fascinating sector. Being based 100% from home (although you are welcome to check into a local office, if desired) with periodic meetings in the division’s head office, you will need to be located in or around the Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire or surrounding counties area, where you will inherit a substantial portfolio of accounts

Your clients will include some of the most prestigious private and independent schools in the region, whose alumni include well-known names from the worlds of business, sport, politics and royalty! The majority of your client visits undertaken will be face-to-face visits, although use of online meetings can also take place, depending on client preference. This division has a specialist team of Business Development Executives, so your role’s focus will be on the management of existing accounts - although part of your role is to work alongside these colleagues to develop new business and explore opportunities to cross and up-sell ancillary services (such as Risk Management). You will develop a detailed understanding of your clients’ operations and their exposures to risk; as you can imagine (with onsite boarding facilities, outdoor pursuits & boating centres, gyms, pools, state of the art science & tech labs etc), many of these will represent far more complex risks than those of many state schools. With the assistance of colleagues, you will work with Underwriters from a select panel of insurers to design a robust insurance programme that comprehensively mitigates risks at a competitive premium.

It is essential that you have previously worked in an Account Executive position, and have an understanding of a variety of commercial covers including Property and Liability / Commercial Combined insurance. Dealing with sophisticated insurance buyers, such as the schools’ Bursars, you must be a confident, articulate and polished communicator, who can secure buy-in from people from all walks of life. You must also be well-organised with excellent task-management skills, and be able to work on a variety of projects at once.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (entirely negotiable) plus company car, bonus and a market-leading flexible benefits package that includes a 12% pension contribution. For the ambitious, this global broker is well-known for promoting from within and in due course, you could move into other positions within this division, or elsewhere within the Group.
