Commercial Insurance Account Executive

Optis Insurance in London are looking at adding to their current team

Purpose
To lead the development and customer service of an allocated portfolio of broker partners and their clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile. Negotiate with relevant markets/underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for the client and on best terms. Enhance revenue stream from existing client base and proactively develop new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Collate information from clients/agents, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile.
  • Research underwriters risk appetite and negotiate with relevant markets to secure the most suitable insurance for the client at the best terms.
  • Prepare and update accurate client presentations/analysis for underwriters and arrange surveys as necessary.
  • Present underwriting terms and rates with relevant information to clients/agents.
  • Grow revenue and profitability for an assigned portfolio of clients/agents.
  • Monitor the progress of the placements, to ensure compliance with Group, Company and Regulatory policies, procedures, regulations and requirements.
  • Meet individual income budget including monthly targets for new and renewal business.
  • Manage and develop relationships with existing and new insurer partners in the London/Lloyds market
  • Build strong long term relationships with key broker partners through establishing trust and exceeding commitments.
  • Support IBA colleagues to manage aged debt and premium collection.
  • Develop and mentor allocated Account Handlers in their understanding of placement terms.


Requirements

  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage effective and constructive working relationships.
  • Strong communication skills are a prerequisite along with a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Attention to detail, strong organisational skills an ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent technical and product knowledge across Property and Casualty is desirable.
  • An understanding of the dynamics of the Irish Commercial Insurance marketplace along with prior experience of the London/Lloyds market is a distinct advantage.
