Job Overview:
  
As a 7.5T Driver working for a Builders Merchant, you will be responsible for operating vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight of 7.5 tonnes transporting goods and materials to designated locations. You will ensure the safe and timely delivery of items.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  
Safely operate 7.5-tonne vehicles to transport goods and materials, according to schedules and routes provided.
Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is properly secured and distributed within the vehicle to prevent damage during transit.
Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues or damage to management.
Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely and courteous delivery of goods.
Follow safety protocols and procedures.
Assist with other duties as needed, including warehouse tasks or administrative duties related to the transportation department.
  
Requirements:
  
Valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements for operating 7.5-tonne vehicles.
Physical fitness and stamina to load and unload cargo, often requiring heavy lifting and bending.
Proven experience as a driver, preferably with experience operating vehicles of similar size and weight.
Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations, as well as familiarity with local roads and routes.
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and customer service.
Forklift or other relevant certifications may be advantageous.
  
The working hours:
Monday - Friday 07.30 - 17.00 + every other Saturday 08.00 - 12.00) 
  
Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience.
