Do you have IT Networking, Infrastructure and System Administration experience, and are you seeking a new job in Farnborough, Surrey? Deerfoot IT Recruitment is working with a leading tech solutions provider who require an experienced 3rd Line Systems Administrator to work on defence related projects.

As a Level 3 Systems Administrator, you will provide technical support, ensuring optimal performance of hardware, software and anti-virus solutions within a dynamic defence sector environment.

In your first few weeks in this System Administrator role, you can expect to:

• Act as technical escalation for the 2nd Line System Admins
• Maintain a patching and upgrade plan for services deployed
• Provide expert support for networking issues
• Conduct fault analysis and predictive failure calculations (Problem Management)
• Own and maintain an up-to-date secure sanitation process within agreed secure locations.

To apply for this 3rd Line Systems Administrator role you will have require technical experience as outlined below, alongside extensive experience in Level 2 and Level 3 technical support and administration within ITIL environments.

• Visualisation: VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCentre
• Backup and Replication: VEEAM
• Scripting: Windows and Exchange PowerShell
• Antivirus Platform: ESET
• Networking: TCP/IP, WAN/LAN, VLANs, MPLS
• Network Monitoring Tools: PRTG, Lansweeper etc.
• Firewall and Switch CLI Configuration
• OS: Windows 10, Windows Server 2016/2019
• Command Line Interfaces

You will also need excellent organisation and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines. You will take an agile approach to multitasking and problem-solving will maintain a high attention to details to manage priorities effectively. You may also have prior experience in defence sector support. You might also hold relevant certifications such as CCNA and JNCIA or ITIL and Windows Certifications.

You'll receive a salary of up to £40,000 and a generous benefits package (including private medical, life assurance and lots more) for your knowledge, expertise and flexibility.
