2nd Line Support Engineer

Brief Overview

We require an IT Support Engineer to conduct both 1st and 2nd line task. You will be responsible for resolving Incidents, Service Requests and other IT support tasks, both software and hardware related.

You will be conducting and recording task resolution, configuration management and service desk reporting. The opportunity to resolve 3rd line hardware tasks may occur, so a quick and keen learner is essential.

The successful candidate will need to be Security clearable, therefore 10 years UK residency is required.

Key Skills

  • Experience of software maintenance and support, including servers
  • Knowledge of PowerShell
  • Deployment and configuration of Microsoft Server 2008/2012 and Windows 7 workstations.
  • Deployment and configuration of Microsoft Server 2008/2012 and Windows 7 workstations.
  • Configuration and installation of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software applications.
  • Installation and configuration of RAID storage sub-systems.

Desirable Skills

  • ITIL Foundation Qualification
  • SQL Server 2008 installation and configuration.

Qualifications

  • Degree related to GIS or Computer Science
