Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the education and development of young minds? Are you committed to providing individualized support to students in their learning journey? If so, we invite you to join our dedicated team as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in primary schools across York.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-on-one support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring a tailored and inclusive educational experience.
  2. Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to meet the specific requirements of the student.
  3. Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment, promoting engagement and motivation among students.
  4. Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to share insights, progress, and strategies for optimal student development.
  5. Encourage and reinforce positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and social skills in students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent qualifications).
  2. Relevant teaching assistant qualification or experience working in a similar role is highly desirable.
  3. An understanding of diverse learning needs and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  5. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational journey of primary school students.
