ALN 1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Cardiff

Academics, one of the UK's leading education recruitment agencies, is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated ALN 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for temporary work in a variety of primary and secondary schools across Cardiff.

About the Role:

  • Position: ALN 1:1 Learning Support Assistant

  • Contract Type: Temporary (with the potential for long-term or permanent roles)

  • Location: Cardiff and surrounding areas

  • Type of Work: Teaching Assistant - supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) on a 1:1 basis

  • Pay: £90 to £100 per day (dependent upon experience, training, qualifications & client rate available)

  • Includes holiday pay

Role Overview:
You will be working on a one-to-one basis with pupils who require additional support due to a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. Your role will be to support the child's learning, promote engagement, and contribute to their progress and well-being in the classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 months' experience working with children, ideally in an educational or ALN setting

  • Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Support Assistant is highly advantageous

  • EWC registration (Education Workforce Council - Wales) or willingness to register

  • A patient, flexible and empathetic approach to supporting young learners
