Our client is a Private Equity backed Property and Technology business who require a best in class Group Financial Controller (GFC). The GFC is a highly visible role across the business and is a key component within the Group Finance team. With a team of 6 qualified accountants and reporting into the Group Finance Director the GFC is responsible for the external reporting, shareholder reporting, technical accounting, implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, and processes to ensure an effective control environment across the Group. The role is also involved in providing key strategic information to Regional Managing Directors and the C-Suite to inform decision making and drive business performance. The GFC is also accountable to the Audit Committee and works closely with Group's external auditors to ensure the Group is compliant with all relevant local accounting policies. In addition to this the GFC is also involved on key finance projects including but not limited to systems implementation, finance transformation and shareholder related transactions. Responsibilities include: * Ownership of the Group's financial control function including the transformation of existing global reporting processes. * Lead improvements in technology and systems, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve controls. * Management and governance of the ongoing development and enhancement of all finance process and related policies. * Liaising as required with key stakeholders both internally and externally including the C-suites, external auditors, regulators, and consultants. * Partner with the technology team to a craft a roadmap for systems development. * Identifying and leading projects across finance as part of the continuous improvement including new systems implementation and finance transformation. * Leadership of six direct staff and responsible for chairing the Group's site financial controller forum and indirectly assist in managing the rest of the finance team. * Managing all day-to-day accounting operations, includes Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition * Take charge of the global month end reporting process, ensuring timely reporting of monthly results to internal and external stakeholders. This role plays a pivotal part in furnishing critical strategic insights to Regional Managing Directors empowering informed decision-making and enhancing overall business performance. This position also actively participates in significant finance projects, encompassing but not limited to systems implementation, finance transformation initiatives, and transactions related to shareholders. We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to manage the bid process for high value, complex and multi-faceted opportunities from prospect, through qualification and to contract signature. You will be responsible for ensuring the large-deal bid process remains fit for purpose. Design and realign where necessary to meet evolving opportunity landscape and reflect best practice including staying abreast of Public Procurement changes. You will also own the whole bid life cycle, including opportunity qualification, programme initiation, assignment of bid team resources and task allocations and act as lead in associated customer dialogue. As part of the senior team, management and delivery of first class bid propositions clearly differentiating the company from the competition are expected from the outset whilst agreeing bid strategies and engaging, where necessary, appropriate partners to deliver successful outcomes. You will currently be a Bid Manager with a minimum of 2 years direct experience. Demonstrable team management experience is also essential. With thirty years of experience, they are the primary service provider to 75% of Fortune 500 companies. They are a fast-paced and dynamic business with aggressive plans for growth and as such require talent that will embrace the company's aspirations to drive and shape the future of our business. They need a hands-on Financial Controller to lead the accounting function for the UK and Ireland entities. You will be building a first-class finance team that will produce timely and accurate financials, which support the company-wide decision making. Role &amp; Responsibilities: * Preparation and review of monthly management accounts within tight reporting deadlines * Oversee monthly revenue preparation of management information for key stakeholders and senior management, including on P&amp;L variances at month-end and on an ad-hoc basis as required. * Manage accurate accruals and prepayments on the balance sheet including reviews of historical run rates for each P&amp;L cost and establishing the most appropriate accrual methodologies. * Monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations with all discrepancies investigated and rectified. * Liaise with department heads on their department P&amp;Ls - confident communication with operational leads with regards to any P&amp;L queries and accounting treatments * Ensure robust financial controls and processes are in place, continuously striving to improve the control environment and move towards best practice. * Manage, support and coach a team of 3-4 accountants and build a positive working culture. * Dispute resolution as required, including US GAAP and local statutory accounting elements. * Manage the timely delivery of local statutory accounts across the region, including consolidated accounts, with focus on coordinating local audit work with management reporting deadlines. * Manage cash reporting and treasury requirements for region. * Manage tax compliance and tax planning activities for the region. The successful applicant will have a practice background with at least 4 years post qualification experience as a financial controller. Essential skill for the role will include expert knowledge of local reporting standards and experience working in US GAAP environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, an ability to effectively present and communicate information, have a proven hands-on approach, self-starter, pro-active in nature and happy to take ownership of issues and resolutions. Previous experience with dealing with international internal / external stakeholders will also be required along with excellent time management skills, having an intellectual curiosity and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
