Focus Futures UK has been established to support young people with care experience through a trauma and strengths informed approach, with an emphasis on relationship-based practice to achieve good engagement, for best outcomes.
We invest time in our staff who have been through an extensive interview and screening process and pride ourselves in being a trauma informed service investing in good quality training via a specialist provision. Our staff have a good understanding of each young person's individual needs, explored via good case management, supervision, and take an approach that enables reasoning, relationships, regulation, recovery and achievements with the young person they work with.
As well as providing regular supervision for all staff members we review practice and support the internal development and career progression opportunities for staff.
Your Future. Our Focus
With over 30 years’ experience of working in the public and independent sector we are well placed to meet the needs of young people. Positions that have overseen Corporate Parenting, Children Looked After and Care Leavers align us to the principles and outcomes that are child focussed and sit within statutory frameworks and guidance.
In welcoming children, we offer a safe space supporting a range of complex needs through bespoke packages of support. We recognise the importance of cultural, racial, and religious beliefs that play crucial roles in our lives, as well as individual values and self-expression, and provide a safe space in our homes to support all areas of need in relation to a young person’s identity.
We have experience with supporting young people on the Autistic Spectrum, Pathological Demand Avoidance, ADHD, Complex Developmental Trauma/PTSD, self-harm, learning difficulties, speech or social communication difficulties, offending behaviour, at risk of Child Criminal or Sexual Exploitation, Diabetes, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. We are able to be adaptive to create spaces and support for some other physical, mental, risk, learning or sensory needs which can be discussed within the referral to ensure the correct support package is agreed.
Our ethos centres around ensuring all young people feel supported, valued and ‘at home’ and we welcome any discussion surrounding additional support you feel would be of benefit. We provide accommodation for young people from short to longer term, enabling children to gain the level of support needed for them to develop skills in independence before they transition to adulthood.
