Working at Police Mutual

For 150 years, we’ve been helping Police Officers, Staff and their families with their finances. With no shareholders, we are run for the benefit of our members and the Police Service which means we can focus on delivering the things that are most important to them. Today, we have around 200,000 Police Mutual members and 120,000 military members who trust us with their finances and we offer benevolent support, insight and financial education as well as a range of exclusive products and services designed especially for the Police. We have around 550 colleagues overall, with our Group head office in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

In February 2014 we began the process of developing our Military business when we acquired Forces Financial. Founded in 1999, Forces Financial offered insurance, money and travel products to meet the needs of the British military personnel, their families, support staff and contractors. Then in April 2016 we acquired Abacus Holdings Limited another highly successful brand with over 25 years’ experience in working with the armed forces insurance. We’ve combined two great businesses to create a new Forces Mutual brand, offering insurance, money and travel products to meet the needs of the British military personnel, wherever they are posted throughout the world.

Forces Mutual has an office in Basingstoke and also operates a branch network spanning across Germany, Cyprus and the UK. Forces Mutual branches provide employment opportunities for partners of serving military personnel and many of the team come from military families and backgrounds.

Forces Mutual is now part of a Group of companies employing around 550 people who are united in their goal to create a better tomorrow for those who protect us today.
