Working at City of Chelmsford Mencap

What we do

City of Chelmsford Mencap (CCM) is a local, independent charity that supports people with a learning disability, and their families, carers and professionals, across mid-Essex. The Charity provides vital lifelong learning, social opportunities and information and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. As a ‘local Mencap’, the charity is affiliated to Royal Mencap. However, local Mencap groups receive no funding from the national society and are responsible for their own financial arrangements. CCM was established in 1951 and has an excellent record of high-quality service delivery as well as benefitting from the excellent reputation of the national charity to which it is affiliated.
