This role will define the direction, deliver tangible automation outcomes, and embed sustainable quality practices across internal teams and third-party suppliers. What needs delivering Own and deliver a modern test strategy covering functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing Select and implement test automation tools suited to healthcare integration and messaging environments Build a first-of-type automated test pack for critical HL7, FHIR, API, and messaging flows Work closely with internal engineering teams and third-party development partners to embed quality throughout the SDLC Establish clear processes for test management, reporting, environment parity, and release confidence Mentor and upskill testers, analysts, and developers to leave lasting internal capability Act as a senior stakeholder interface, translating risk and quality into clear business outcomes Essential experience required Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Test Manager, or Senior Lead in complex or regulated environments Strong background in test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and tool selection (Azure DevOps preferred) Hands-on experience with integration testing (APIs, messaging, HL7, FHIR) Confident working across in-house teams and third-party vendors, driving shared ownership and standards Excellent communicator who can bridge technical detail and senior stakeholders NHS / healthcare / regulated domain experience Familiarity with clinical safety standards and interoperability Experience improving fragmented or manual testing estates *Rates depend on experience and client requirements
