Average Purchasing Assistant salary in the UK

Global manufacturer requires a Purchasing Assistant on a 12 month FTC basis to support procurement and supply chain planning activities. Applicants will ideally have office-based experience within a manufacturing or engineering business. Experience in, or previous exposure to procurement or supply chain tasks would be advantageous. The Purchasing Assistant will support tasks around; purchase order management, supplier liaison, data management, and inventory/stock control. Specific duties of the Purchasing Assistant include: Purchase order management for direct/indirect areas of spendExpediting and maintenance of correct data in MRPMonitoring of; stock, inventory and Kanban levelsStakeholder engagementMonitoring supplier KPI performance - quality, cost, delivery, spendMaintain ERP master data Purchasing Assistant applicants should meet the following criteria: Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environmentExposure to procurement, suppliers or supply chain tasks would be advantageousCollaborative, team playerIT literacy - MS Office packages, MRP and ERP (desirable)Comfortable with hybrid working, and working a 12 month FTC position
