Payroll Supervisor
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor (FTC) for an initial 12 months, to work within their small, friendly payroll team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will have current payroll experience and be confident in managing a portfolio of clients processing their payrolls (consisting of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls) including dealing with all client queries. Whilst this is a fixed-term contract role for a duration of 12 months, working Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week with some flexibility, due to their growing business there is potential for it becoming a permanent role in the future. This is a Hybrid working role of 2 days at home/3 in the office would be available after an initial training period. You must also be able to drive to the office! CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Liaising with clients and entering payroll data from start to finishReconciling payroll to client data, getting client approval as appropriate and issuing payroll reports & payslipsReviewing team member’s workPreparing payroll journalsReconciling weekly and monthly PAYEF figuresPreparing BACS filesAdministering Pension Auto-enrolment including making appropriate declarations to The Pensions RegulatorProducing and distributing pension scheme returns, including notification of changes in members’ status and uploading to pension providerDealing effectively with queries from clients, and HMRC and other parts if the businessAssisting with onboarding new clients.Share knowledge internally and externally. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Client Payroll / Payroll bureau experience is essentialAble to calculate tax, NI, pensions, etc. manuallyGood working knowledge of statutory family leave, SSP, salary sacrifice, pensions.Excellent communication (verbal and written) skillsEvidence of being a proactive, hands-on team player who is confident in working to changing priorities in a busy departmentA natural organiser with a keen eye for detail and accuracyFlexibility (busy periods will require working longer hours to meet deadlines)MS office (intermediate Excel)
