Average Media Manager salary in the UK

An internationally renowned University in London is looking for an interim Media Manager to join the team for 3 months starting in May. The Media Manager will support on a large scale external communications campaign. Client Details Our client is a well recognised brand in the Higher Education sector. The team are in the office 2-3 times per week in central London. Description Develop and deliver proactive, engaging and impactful external communications campaigns that increase awareness of the university.Provide reactive communications support including crisis management.Develop and implement proactive external communications campaigns and activities.Manage media enquiries from local, national and international media.Collaborate with colleagues across the University as well as the communications team.Lead on corporate projects and activities including: speech writing, media briefings, website content, online and print publication content creation and production. Profile Experience of developing, planning and delivering successful, proactive, external communications campaigns.Track record of successfully working proactively with news or specialist media to secure positive coverage.Background in external communications and campaign management.Evidence of crisis/issue management media handling.Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build relationships quickly.Ability to produce written content suitable for a wide variety of channels. Job Offer 3 month contract.Start in May 2025.Day rate contract PAYE or Umbrella.Salary bracket £40,000 - £48,000.Hybrid working.Fast moving interview process.
