We are part of a wider Inclusion and Additional Needs Team and work collaboratively with colleagues in Speech and Language Therapy and Specialist Teaching. Assistant EPs are an integral part of our teams and both our statutory and preventative offer to schools. About the Role You will belong to an area-based team of Educational Psychologists and Assistant EPs and will work to assist individual EPs and their work and also collaborate on project-based activities with other EPs and Assistant EPs which support the work of the service. Assistant EPs have a valuable role in both supporting EPs with statutory work, supporting schools to implement evidence informed psychological interventions and support the delivery and evaluation of initiatives to support inclusion. Some current examples of these include supporting schools to implement Emotion Coaching training in their context and providing additional support for young people at risk of exclusion. We would like to hear from skilled practitioners who want to gain experience within a local authority Educational Psychology Service with the ambition of becoming an Educational Psychologist. We will support you to develop a range of psychological assessment and intervention skills to promote children's wellbeing and inclusion within their local community. The Education Support Officer (ESO) for Post-16 is a county wide role which sits within the Virtual School's Post 16 team. The main purpose of the role is to ensure every young person in the care of Surrey is supported to transition smoothly to a sustainable Post-16 education, employment or training (EET) provision when they leave secondary education and that they remain EET. This can often involve working with the wider network of professionals to address barriers young people have to participation. In this role you will manage a caseload of over 100 looked-after young people in Years 12 and 13, some of whom have complex needs.
