A 'Good' rated Special Needs School in Wakefield is looking for a caring and experienced Youth Support Worker to join their team. The school caters for children and young people from 4 to 18 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Communication Impairments.

The school is looking for a full-time (Monday to Friday) Youth Support Worker to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year and beyond - part time positions are also available.

As a Youth Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

* Building strong rapport with the pupils in your care to help them feel comfortable and relaxed.
* To ensure child care plans are followed accurately so the needs and requirements of each child are met.
* To help run exciting and stimulating activities to aid the pupils' sensory skills and development.
* To work alongside other support staff and assist with behaviour management where needed.
* To support pupils with personal care if required.


To qualify as a Youth Support Worker, experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities is required to demonstrate your knowledge of how to support young people with special needs. This can be professional or personal experience, such as supporting a family member with additional needs.
