Are you passionate about empowering young people and fostering positive change in their lives? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Youth Project Development Officer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and deliver innovative projects aimed at enhancing the life chances and employability skills of young people aged 16 and above. By utilizing cultural interests such as sports, music, arts, and digital platforms, you will engage with youth, nurture their talents, and facilitate their journey towards a brighter future.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate the development of a Professionals and Young People’s Employability and Skills Forum, fostering collaboration among young people, community representatives, and stakeholders.
  2. Collaborate with the Youth Engagement Officer to plan, organize, and execute projects for young people, aligning with the Communities for Work Plus Young Person’s Guarantee Delivery Plan.
  3. Work closely with employability partners to develop and align projects to meet program objectives.
  4. Coordinate and promote employability support for both youth and adults, including opportunities in green industries.
  5. Identify volunteer needs, design projects involving volunteers, and provide supervision and training to ensure project success.
  6. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support project delivery and sustainability.
  7. Develop training programs to enhance volunteer skills and project sustainability.
  8. Establish and maintain relationships with employability partners, agencies, and organizations.
  9. Promote existing services and facilities to support the resilience and well-being of young people.
  10. Manage project finances, including budget monitoring and reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree or relevant experience in Health, Youth, or Community work.
  • Experience in project planning, management, and financial resource management.
  • Ability to facilitate sessions and events, with an understanding of youth employment support programs.
  • Experience working with young people, including those facing motivational challenges.
  • Experience in managing and supervising volunteers is desirable.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing and implementing project plans.
  • Ability to engage with hard-to-reach and socially excluded individuals and communities.
