Youth Coach

Draig recruitment currently have an exciting new job role for a full-time youth coach to support Key Stage 1 and 2 students in a small alternative provision located in Flintshire. This role will include supporting students in small groups of around 1-5 students or individuals in the classroom with numeracy,literacy and skills. The ideal applicant will have experience of working with children or young people who have experienced trauma, mental health difficulties and challenging behaviours. This school is a warm and welcoming Primary mainstream school who cater for children with additional learning needs.

Hours of work Monday to Friday 8:45am-3:15pm. Pays a min of £76 per day. This is a full-time role to start asap until July 2024, temp-perm for the right candidate.

To be considered for this role you will need:

• Experience working with children or young people

• Experience in an education setting, ideally in key stage 2 and 3 or above

• Good knowledge and understanding of a range of mental health and traumadifficulties

• Have experience in sports such as football, rugby, cycling, martial arts desirable

• A flexible, patient approach with a positive attitude

• Ability to de-escalate behaviour

• Eligibility to work in the UK

• References confirming suitability for role

• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willing to apply

• EWC registration or willing to apply

• Safeguarding training or willing to take a free course with us
