Year 4 Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)

- Contract Type: Temporary (Maternity Cover)
- Start Date: 22nd April
- Duration: Minimum 9 months
- Working Hours: Full-time, 8am - 4pm (Wednesday until 4:30pm for staff meeting)
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience, with weekly pay through Reed Education
We are seeking a dedicated Year 4 Class Teacher to join a vibrant primary school in Middlesbrough for a maternity cover position. The school is known for its inclusive, individualised, and inspirational curriculum, and aims to nurture pupils to become productive, respectful, honest, and reliable community members.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
- Assess, record, and report on pupils’ development, progress, and attainment.
- Effectively manage classroom behaviour, maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
- Communicate with parents and guardians about their children’s progress and wellbeing.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent evenings, and whole-school training events.
- Collaborate within the phase team and with teaching assistants and other staff to support pupil learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Key Stage 2 pupils.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
