Hays are proud to be working with an established academy trust to support the recruitment of a Year 5 Teacher to join one of their schools for a long-term teaching job in Sheffield. This job is expected to last until the end of the school year in July with a possible option for the right candidate to become a permanent teacher with the school from September.
Your new school
You will be joining a diverse academy with high numbers of EAL as well as SEN children and pupil premium. The school is part of one of the largest primary school trusts in South Yorkshire, providing a framework and structure for your lesson planning, marking and preparation. The school has the highest aspirations for its students to achieve the very best, irrespective of their backgrounds or needs. The school was opened in 2018 and as such they are still growing, with next year being the first year that the school will be full from reception to Year 6.
Your new role
As a class teacher within the academy, you will become part of a growing school. Within the role, you will be expected to be an integral part of the school, providing planning, marking and feedback for the students, as well as attending staff meetings, parents' evenings, training sessions and other engagements within the school. Within the classroom, you will provide stimulating and engaging lessons, following the national curriculum within the framework guidelines provided by the academy trust. You will be working alongside a teaching assistant as well as the subject leaders. The school is looking for someone with strong behaviour management, committed to the role and to the growth of the school. Whilst this role is initially a long-term supply role, for the correct candidate this role will become a permanent one from September.
What you'll need to succeed

  • You should have experience within a classroom setting in the last 5 years.
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience teaching in a Primary School, ideally in Upper KS2
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a UK QTS & a PGCE
  • Good knowledge of the English National Curriculum
