The talent acquisition team at NET Recruit is partnering with a forward-thinking business in the automotive industry, to support their campaign for a Workshop Controller located in the Poole area. With a plethora of locations occupied across the south coast, and a strong history of success, it is no wonder this business are experiencing excellent growth and a demand for further services by their dedicated customers and as such are looking to expand on many of their core offerings across the business.

With this plan in mind, this role will be paramount to a successful delivery, with the position holder taking a lead supervisory role in the day to day operations of the workshop. Ensuring that work is carried out to standard, and that policies and best practice is adhered to will be of the up most importance to the job holder and they will be expected to be on hand to trouble shoot any issues that are run into in a proactive and helpful manner.


Role & Responsibilities

While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing the workshop, delegating workload and tasks as needed
  • Ensuring that all servicing work is completed accurately and on time with the parameters set out with the customer
  • Taking the complexity of jobs and the availability of parts into consideration when scheduling work
  • Providing proactive support to advisors when dealing with customer queries, promoting the notion of a seamless service to customers at all times
  • Actively communicating with other teams and parties in relation to parts needed and any other issues that need addressing, ordering parts as they are needed to meet requirements
  • Monitoring technician times, ensuring that a high-quality service is being delivered in a timely manner, and producing reports on this in line with audit guidance
  • Providing support to the technicians on technical challenges, striving to identify solutions that will meet the current requirements as well as addressing satisfaction
  • Creating job estimates that cover time and resources for service and repair work
  • Ensuring all work completed meets guidelines, best practice and internal policies as well as DVSA
  • Mentoring junior technicians, identifying areas for improvement and liaising with HR to provide training as needed

What You Will Need To Apply:
To be considered for this role, applicants must be a fully qualified technician, at least Level 3, and have plenty of experience within a workshop environment, where management duties have been undertaken. Applicants will need to be resourceful and have a positive and proactive approach to work and potential challenges. Any additional experience possessed in quality control or audit compliance would be beneficial. Good communication skills are also required, as well as a good aptitude for IT systems. 

A full UK driving license is necessary for this role.

What You Will Get In Return:
For the successful candidate, an excellent starting salary of up to £34,000 will be on offer, depending on previous relatable experience that can be utilised.
