Your new school Hays are recruiting for a job as a Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant / Cynorthwyydd Addysgu for a Welsh-Medium Primary School in Newport, which works tirelessly to create and maintain a safe and encouraging working environment which allows their pupils to develop to their full potential. The school possesses a fantastic reputation for having a caring and hardworking teaching team which caters for Welsh Speaking students aged between 3 and 11. Within this role, you will be supporting small groups of pupils in a year 4 class. The school prides itself on the high standard of welsh language education it offers its pupils through the fantastic work of their teaching team.
Your new role.
The role is confirmed long-term for an Immediate Start, working 5 days a week. However, the school also has roles which are available following the Easer Holidays and has a part-time work schedule. Duties relating to this role include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting small groups of Primary School students through the medium of Welsh
  • Offering educational and emotional support.
  • Creating and maintaining a safe and enjoyable learning environment for the pupils.
  • Working as part of a close-knit and efficient team with other members of the teaching staff.
  • Assisting teachers as they implement their creative lesson plans.

What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, it is required that you possess at least 40 days of relevant experience over the course of the last 2 - 3 years and must be able to speak Welsh. Some of the key attributes needed for this role include enthusiasm, dedication, and a hardworking nature. Additional skills and attributes include empathy, calmness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships. Experience of working with additional learning needs is desirable but not required. What you'll get in return
