ob Purpose:

To maintain all skip usability, fixing and improving through welding and other means where required. Support garage in vehicle repairs requiring welding and modifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Asses which welding equipment is required and which method is the most appropriate for a specific welding task
  • Ensure all welding equipment used is free of any defects, report any concerns
  • Perform all work by established safety procedures and legal requirements
  • Ensure the safety of people, equipment, plant and vehicles at all times
  • Carry out all welding and modifications to vehicles and skips as required
  • Refloor ally floors, and replace rear tipping bars when worn
  • Maintain and repair all sheeting systems on all vehicles
  • Repair vehicle accident damage to bodywork, including removing, prepping, respraying and refitting of panels /bumpers
  • Complete daily documentation ensuring that the necessary information is recorded fully and legibly
  • Ensure adherence to all internal processes and procedures to ensure role is completed accurately at all times
  • Communicate effectively with fellow team members to ensure work is being carried out efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Pro-actively encourage and help co- workers when necessary
  • Assist with garage tasks and other departments when required

Requirements

  • A good knowledge of health and safety practices including welding safety procedures with a willingness to use protective clothing
  • Proven experience as a welder (MIG) and fabricator
  • Experience in using various welding equipment
  • A valid certificate or qualification in welding from an accredited institution or program (Preferred)
  • A detail-orientated and methodical approach
  • Good attention to detail

Hours - Monday to Friday - 42.5 hours per week

28 Annual Leave including Bank Holidays

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000.00 per year

  • South Kirkby, West Yorkshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
