Role - Water Quality Technician
Location - Edinburgh
Hours - Monday - Friday, 36 hours per week
Salary - £26,788 - 30,751 depending on experience
Start date - asap
The successful candidate will be providing a high quality service to both the service area and customers across the city of Edinburgh. You will be carrying out, but not limited to the following duties;
- Planning, organising and carrying out a programme of water hygiene control measures, including temperature measurement, flushing water systems, disinfecting showerheads, inspecting water tanks, TMV servicing and minor maintenance tasks in accordance with HSG 274 and ACOP L8 regulations
- Monitoring the condition of asbestos materials, previously identified by surveys, in accordance with an agreed programme.
- Taking samples for laboratory and chemistry analysis. Samples must be taken in accordance with BS7592 and delivery to the Laboratory as required
- Keeping records up to date at all times
- Carrying out cleaning and disinfection of cold water storage tanks to ACOP L8 and BS8558 requirements
- Reporting of defects, emergencies and taking preventative action on site
- Providing water safety advice to building occupants and relevant stakeholders
- Organising access into sites out with normal hours through PPM department
- Site handover to responsible person of new risk assessments and documentation
You should have a proven track record in a similar role, experience of taking samples for analysis, knowledge of BS7592 and be well versed in record keeping.
You must have a full driving licence and the below qualifications (or equivalent):
- BOHS P901
- BOHSP400
