We are working with a well-established engineering company based in Monmouth, seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior/ Principal Wastewater Process Engineer to join their Engineering Technical Solutions Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer from the Water Industry to join the UK's number one solutions provider for onsite water treatment, waste water processing and the prevention of waterborne pollution across various sectors including Municipal, Industrial, and Environmental Protection.

Position Overview:

The Senior/ Principal Wastewater Process Engineer will play a pivotal role as the technical team lead at the Monmouth Head Office / Centre of Excellence. Reporting directly to the Technical Solutions Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing various wastewater treatment processes to ensure efficient and effective water treatment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop wastewater treatment processes and solutions in compliance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct detailed process designs and simulations to optimize wastewater treatment solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess project feasibility and optimize potential options.
  • Support the development of laboratory experiments and pilot-scale studies to evaluate treatment methods, troubleshoot operational issues, and validate proposed solutions.
  • Assist in the design, delivery, and commissioning of solutions including the production of standard deliverables (P&IDs, Outline Drawings, Control Philosophies, HAZOPs, etc.).
  • Research and implement new technologies, processes, and product partners to ensure optimal solutions and opportunity closeout.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential R&D opportunities to further improve and develop solutions offered across all products and sectors.
  • Represent the company at meetings, giving presentations, and conducting technical and commercial negotiations.
  • Provide technical training and mentoring both internally and externally for clients and projects.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Excellent technical, analysis, and data interpretation skills with the ability to identify project and client needs.
  • Proven work experience in the water process engineering field.
  • Expertise in wastewater treatment technologies and detailed process design will be ideal.
  • Sound knowledge of process-related standards, design requirements, and project delivery processes.
  • Strong optimization and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, chemical, wastewater engineering, or a related field.
  • Chartered or incorporated engineer status and membership of a professional institution.
  • Experience in report writing and documentation development.
  • Demonstrated ability in staff supervision, mentoring, and training.
  • Experience in the municipal water industry is desired and not essential.
  • Full UK driving license.
